YNot Dachshunds Supports All Colors and Patterns

The Dachshund Club Of America (DCA) Breed Standard Revision in 2006 DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING in
regards to the PIEBALD or the DOUBLE DAPPLE Pattern.

Direct Quote From DCA Standard:
“Color of Hair - Although base color is immaterial, certain patterns and basic colors predominate.
DISQUALIFICATION: Knuckling over of front legs.”

AKC Guidelines for Writing Breed Standards: "Color ... In breeds where multiple colors and color combinations are
acceptable, but not all colors are permitted, the complete list of all colors and color combinations must be included in
the standard."  The DCA Standard does not list ALL acceptable colors and pattern thus they did not follow the
guidelines set forth by AKC.  It is also important to note that this guidance was issued by AKC after DCA's breed
standard revision.
RESULT: PIEBALDS & DOUBLE DAPPLES ARE STILL ALLOWED IN THE
CONFORMATION RING!

If you contact AKC they will tell you that the PIEBALDS are still allowed in the Conformation Ring and that YES
THEY CAN BE AWARDED Conformation POINTS and complete their Championships.

I urge everyone interested in preserving colors and patterns in Dachshunds to Join the
National Miniature Dachshund
Club and to Join the Dachshund Club of America  so that you will have a VOTE To Fight For ALL Colors & Patterns.

Check Out this link for a Description of colors and patterns :www.eridox.com

Keep coming back for updates and Thank You for your support of the colors & patterns.

My First Champion Piebald

CH Duchwood Sounds of Silence MSP (Silas)  pictured right,
a black & tan piebald who took
Reserve Winners Dog at DCA 2002.

Silas is the corner stone of my breeding program here at YNot.
I have been showing and breeding miniature dachshunds since 1999.  I have over 30 champions to my credit.  I
have champions in the USA, Canada and now Brazil.  I have show prospects in several European Countries,
Australia and Brazil.  I have come a long way.  I first fell in love with the piebald dachshunds. My breeding
program is ever evolving and now I am breeding for show quality chocolate and creams.  I have mainly smooths
and longs.  Occasionally I will have a few piebalds and or wires.
